Sith Acolyte Mask (Version 2)

Having made a few Sith Acolyte masks, I decided to make the shape of the mask more accurate. This would entail shortening the mouth "fangs" a bit, widening the eyes, and extending the cranium so that the cheeks could extend past the ear like in this image from the trailer "DECEIVED". Although the style of detailing differs from the "HOPE" piece, it's safe to assume that the shape and proportions of the two are the same.

I did the extension using plasticine ...

… and then built it up with bondo. Plasticine is pretty cheap, easy to shape, and can be reused; this is a huge bonus, since mold making can get expensive pretty quick!

And here is the finished, sanded down version 2 mold.

In this next photo, version 2 mask is placed next to version 1 for size comparison. At first glance, V2 looks a lot larger than V1; the size difference however, is only due to the natural flow of the extended cranium, and not noticeable when the mask is worn. The mouth is actually shorter and smaller in V2 than in V1, while V2 eyes are cut out wider. On the next page, you'll be able to see that the larger size of V2 mask does not at all make it look oversized, or bulky.

Completed Version 2 Masks

Here are some examples of completed Sith Acolyte V2 masks.

The writing inside the mask says "Sith Acolyte 'Mynock'" in Aurabesh script.

(Above: special thanks to 501st member TK 5376 for providing this fantastic shot of himself sporting his "Mynock" Sith Acolyte Mask!)

Thanks for looking!
