June, 2016

The folks at BioWare have bestowed a huge honour on me by naming a character in Star Wars the Old Republic after me!

"Mynock" is a mando warrior NPC who can be found guarding the entrance to Shae Vizla's camp on the planet Darvannis in the latest STWOR expansion "Mandalore's Revenge". I had a little bit of say in the armor type, colour scheme and weapon he's sporting, so now I have no excuse for not finishing my Shae Armor set! It shall be done!

SWTOR Foundry Helmet Mynocksden1

Mynock's Den ARCANN mask framed and gifted to the Star Wars The Old Republic BioWare developer team by Blur Studio. In the photo from left to right: Charles Boyd - lead writer/creative designer; James Ohlen - BioWare design director, and Ben Irving - lead producer for SWTOR. Photo was taken at Blur Studio, was provided to me courtesy of Dave Wilson - Artistic Director at Blur.

Also, in the works: Early Sith Empire Era Harrower Class Dreadnaught. This will be my first-ever ship model, so the learning curve on this will be (and has already been) huge. The superstructure is being built from ABS/HIPS/Sintra sheeting, with most of the intricate detailing being done with the use of 3D printing and laser engraving/cutting. The final ship will be 1 meter long (1:800 scale), and will feature fiberoptic lighting (which I have no idea how to do yet, but I'll figure it out!) Really excited to bring this to life!
